Ensalada de Gyokuro
After having used your Gyokuro tea leaves three or four (or more times) it’s time to add some soy sauce. Seriously, these bright green little leaves have much more to offer than “just” their tea liquor.

Ingredientes for your Gyokuro salad

  • Used Gyokuro leaves (whichever amount you happen to have)
  • Soy or Tamari sauce
  • Rice Vinegar (optional)
  • Sesame oil

Preparation

Add your used Gyokuro leaves to a salad bowl. Add 2-3 tea spoons of soy sauce or Tamari and optionally 1 tea spoon of rice vinegar (the one used for Sushi). Last but not least sprinkle some drops of sesame oil on top of your salad and mix well.

Also try adding some fried tofu bits, cherry tomatoes a bit of grated orange skin, there you go, you’ve just created your own brand of Japanese Gyokuro Salad.

¡Buen provecho!
